Pilot project: Sewing project in Yemen

Our new project in Yemen involves renting a room in which we will provide 11 sewing machines and fabrics. We will then organize a tailoring workshop for 11 women in need, where they will learn how to make clothes. They are guided by qualified tailors. After the workshop, the women are allowed to keep the machines and set up their own workplace in the room to produce and sell garments.

Our aim with this project is to teach the women a new skill and provide them with a job so that they can earn their own income. We are convinced that this is an important step towards promoting their financial independence and improving their living conditions in the long term. We plan to repeat the project as often as possible as long as the donation amount is reached.

The total cost of the project is CHF 6,500. We believe that this is an investment in the future of women in Yemen, as it not only gives them financial independence, but also boosts their self-esteem and self-confidence. We hope that this project will help to make a lasting difference to women’s lives and give them a better future.
